Mark Ritson
Former Marketing Professor, Marketing Columnist & Founder of the Mini MBA in Marketing
With a PhD in Marketing, Mark was a former professor at the London and Melbourne Business Schools, the University of Minnesota, MIT Sloan and SMU, winning numerous prizes for his MBA teaching. Mark has worked as a global brand consultant for clients including McKinsey, Subaru, Donna Karan, Westpac, Johnson & Johnson, De Beers, Sephora, Ericsson, Cloudy Bay and WD40. From 2002 to 2015, Mark served as the in-house brand consultant for LVMH working with luxury brands like Louis Vuitton, Dom Perignon and Hennessy. As a columnist of 20 years, Mark writes weekly columns for Marketing Week. He has received both Columnist of the Year at the PPA Press Awards and British Society of Magazine Editors Business Columnist of the Year multiple times. His scholarly publications include articles in the Sloan Management Review, Harvard Business Review and both the Advertising and Consumer Research Journals. A Thouron Scholar at Wharton, and recipient of the Ferber Award for his doctoral thesis, Mark’s co-authored research was cited in George Akerlof’s 2001 Nobel Prize acceptance speech. Mark has appeared in AdNews’ 2018 “Power 50”, SmartCompany's top ten business thinkers list for Australia, and won AMI’s Sir Charles McGrath Award.
